Dr Tipton commenced his advanced restorative dental training in 1987, where after 2 years study he was awarded a Masters Degree in Conservative Dentistry from the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital in London. In 1992 he was awarded an honorary ‘Diploma in General Dental Practice’ from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and appointed a member of the British Dental Associations Independent Practice Committee.
Dr Tipton is regarded as a leading authority on cosmetic and restorative dentistry and implantology in the UK. Recognised and certified as a Specialist in Prosthodontics* by the General Dental Council in 1999, Dr Tipton regularly lectures on cosmetic, implant and restorative dentistry to dentists across the UK, Europe, North America & Asia. He is on the editorial board of Independent Dentistry and Restorative & Aesthetics Practice and was a founding member of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (BAAD) and the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (BACD) where he is on the board of Directors.
Dr Tipton regularly writes clinical articles for the dental and consumer press on smile design and how a beautiful smile can be achieved (Download button) and he has been featured in magazines in ‘Stars of Private Practice’. Dentists and dental practices regularly refer patients to Dr Tipton and st.ann's; and he treats many dentists and their families who require his level of expertise (the dentists’ dentist).He has recently been voted by UK dental professionals the most influential Prosthodontics Specialist in the UK.
*Prosthodontics is the dental speciality dealing with cosmetic and restorative dentistry – the art and science of replacement, repair and maintenance of teeth.
